Throughout April and May 2016, members of the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association have provided anti-racism trainings to prison workers and volunteers working with inmates during special workshops in Poland, Greece, and Hungary. The trainings were organized in frames of the innovative educational project E.U.R.O.P.E. (European Union Rapprochement for Offenders and Pupils Education). Supported by the European Commission, the project aims to promote European and civic values among inmates, ex-convicts and socially marginalized youth in cooperation with officials and volunteers. The international project is managed by Collegium Civitas in Warsaw with the participation […]

Germany were already formidable enough at Euro 2012 but they will be enlivened all the more by their rout of Greece. In mid-campaign, Joachim Löw’s side became carefree as they relished the fun to be had after half-time. Greece did not lack pride and there was a second goal for them in the 89th minute when Dimitris Salpigidis stroked home a penalty but it was a rare moment of inconvenience for the victors. The opening by Germany was full of confidence as much as talent. It hardly seemed to matter […]
Co-hosts are hoping Borussia Dortmund’s Lukasz Piszczek, Jakub Blaszczykowski and Robert Lewandowsk can reproduce their club success on the international stage It is a paradox of football that the hosts of a tournament can enjoy a low profile. Attention will, of course, soar when Poland take the field against Greece in the opening match of Euro 2012, but Franciszek Smuda’s side can be pleased that they have only provided meagre information for their opponents. The same can be said of the co-hosts Ukraine, yet it is Poland who could be […]
Fernando Santos claims that at Euro he would have the best defense from all teams participating in the tournament. The ill-considered statement of „Hellas” head coach has already caused a lot of confusion below the Acropolis. Fernando Santos blurted out that during Euro he would have at his disposal the best defense from all teams taking part in the tournament. Pictures with his silhouette immediately appeared on all colorful covers of the country’s largest magazines. Even the Greeks, who are considered to be excessively optimistic, didn’t believe in the declarations […]
In the opening match at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, the Poles will pit themselves with the national team of Greece. The balance of matches with European Champions from 2004 is surprisingly positive for our team. Poland won 10 out of 15 matches, there were two draws and three times our team left the pitch defeated. Balance of goals is 29-11 to our benefit. For the last time, we had the chance to pit ourselves with Greeks in March last year, and the match ended with a goalless draw. […]
The Greeks, currently at the thirteenth place in the ranking, will participate in the European Championship for the fourth time. So far, they even managed to win the whole event in a fantastic game in 2004 on the fields of Portugal. But since then, if they managed to qualify for the competition, they ended in the group stage. In the qualifying games to the Polish Ukrainian tournament the Greeks did not suffer a defeat scoring seven wins and three draws, getting ahead of the Croats, who were second, by two […]
The ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association has conducted numerous actions to promote diversity and respect in cooperation with prison personnel and inmates. In the spirit of the International Day of Education in Prisons (13 October) it encourages penitentiary establishments and civic groups to join the campaign against prejudice. On 13 October 1989, the Council of Europe adopted a set of recommendations outlining the needs and responsibilities concerning the education of imprisoned persons in Europe. These recommendations stipulate that all imprisoned persons should be offered the opportunity to engage in educational activities and […]
An anti-discrimination football exhibition prepared by the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association has been opened in the main hall of the Polish Parliament on 19 February 2014. The opening ceremony was hosted by Deputy Speaker Wanda Nowicka, Poland’s leading campaigner against discrimination and for women’s rights. The exhibition was brought to the Parliament on the initiative of Robert Biedron MP, the founder of Campaign Against Homophobia and a longtime ally of the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association. Since autumn 2013, Robert Biedron is the General Rapporteur on LGBT rights in the Parliamentary Assembly of […]

Euro 2012 has only just finished, with Spain running out as champions for the second time in a row. Already there has been some talk of the Iberians running out in 2016 in search of an unprecedented third title in a row, though there is the 2014 World Cup to look forward to before then. Plenty of the current crop will likely be out of the international picture by then. But, Spain have a new generation already staking their claim for a place in the side who will likely be […]
