James Milner believes Manchester City will emerge “stronger and better” from their Champions League defeat to Napoli on Tuesday evening.
City need to beat Bayern Munich next month and hope Villarreal can do them a favour against Napoli, after losing 2-1 to the Serie A side.
However, midfielder Milner believes they will not be affected by that loss when they take on Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, a match they are 9/1 to win 2-1 with bookmaker.
“We’re a strong group of players, mentally as well. We still have confidence in ourselves,” said the England international.
“This is a massive disappointment but it’s all part of football.
“You have to deal with disappointments, move on from them and make sure you learn from your mistakes. That makes you a stronger and better team.”
