Ben Youngs hopes his performances for Leicester Tigers against Clermont Auvergne in the Heineken Cup will force him into the England side for the Six Nations.
The scrum-half hopes to impress in the double-header against the French side, who are 8/1 with bookmaker to win Europe’s premier competition, and earn a place in the England side ahead of the likes of Danny Care and Joe Simpson.
“All I’ve been thinking about is getting back playing for Leicester and really enjoying it,” Youngs said.
“There’s no better test than these two games leading up to Christmas against Clermont. Provided I do well hopefully I’ll be in the mind of whoever is in charge come the Six Nations.”
The Tigers are 8/1 to win this season’s Heineken Cup.
