Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho, whose side are 1/3 with bookmaker to win La Liga, has refused to write off deadly rivals and reigning champions Barcelona.
Barca dropped seven points behind Real after a goalless draw with Villarreal at the weekend, but Mourinho is wary of thinking that the title is all but won already.
He told Lusa: “Is seven points a lot? The press might think so, but I disagree.
“The people who write that we are the new champions and that Barcelona can’t bounce back are the same people who previously tried to create divisions and conflicts at Madrid.”
Real and Barca also have their sights set on glory in the Champions League, with the men from Madrid facing CSKA Moscow in the last 16, while the Catalans take on Bayer Leverkusen.
Current European champions Barca are 6/4 to retain their crown, with Real 11/4 to land a record tenth European Cup.
