Roberto Mancini will not be taking Aston Villa lightly when his Manchester City side take on Alex McLeish’s outfit this weekend.
The Italian admitted after his team’s 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park last week that he had not taken Everton seriously enough and his side responded by beating Fulham 3-0 at the weekend.
City, 1/2 with bookmaker to win the Premier League title this season, now appear to have a kinder set of fixtures over the coming weeks, as second-placed Manchester United face the likes of Liverpool on Saturday and Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane before the month is out.
Mancini said of the Aston Villa game, which City are 15/2 to win 2-1: “We will have a difficult game in Birmingham but, if we have the same attitude that we had against Fulham, we will do well. I think all the remaining games are difficult.”
