Phil Mickelson is convinced his next win is not too far away after working hard on the driving range and seeing an improvement with the putter.
The 40-year-old, who is 25/1 with bookmaker to win this week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, is hoping his 2012 campaign can kick on after a slow start.
Mickelson is usually a fast starter to the season, but so far, this year has been a different story. He missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open last week, but has been working hard on his game since then.
“I’m excited about this year and I’m ready to play,” said the left-hander.
“I don’t know what happened last week. I’m going to put it as something I’m going to shrug off because my practice sessions have been really good.”
