Under-pressure Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has urged his side to cut out the defensive mistakes which contributed to a 3-1 Champions League defeat at Napoli.
The Blues, who are 7/4 with bookmaker to recover and reach the last eight, were cruelly exposed in the San Paolo, with the absence of inspirational skipper John Terry proving a major problem.
“We have to solve these mistakes at the back. We need this concentration right and this efficiency right, for sure,” Villas-Boas admitted.
“We have full belief in these players and we have to continue to work with them to get it right.”
Villas-Boas will need to pick his players up quickly for their home Premier League clash with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, with the Blues currently in fifth place in the table and in danger of missing out on the Champions League altogether next season.
They will be boosted by the knowledge that they have won their last eight meetings with the Trotters and triumphed 5-1 at the Reebok Stadium earlier this season.
