Spurs defender Michael Dawson may miss the rest of the season after picking up an injury during Wednesday’s FA Cup win over Stevenage.
Tottenham are 5/2 with bookmaker to win the cup after a Jermain Defoe brace helped them book their place in the quarter-finals, where they will take on Bolton. However, the 3-1 victory was marred by the injury to Dawson, who was stretchered off after landing awkwardly, appearing to damage his ankle and knee.
The 28-year-old could now potentially miss the remainder of Spurs’ campaign, as well as this summer’s European Championships.
“Looking at his injury, it would be a miracle to think he is not (out for the season). You never know but it didn’t look good at all. It is a big blow for us and for Michael,” said Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.
“It’s a big loss, he is a big professional. You want him around your team, that’s for sure.”
