Steven Gerrard has told his Liverpool team-mates to concentrate on the last four Premier League matches of the season rather than next month’s FA Cup final against Chelsea.
The Reds skipper has already helped Liverpool into the Europa League courtesy of their Carling Cup win at Wembley in February and they can make it a double if they defeat Chelsea.
The Reds are 2/1 with bookmaker to lift the FA Cup, while Chelsea can be backed at 7/5 to win.
Liverpool are currently in eighth position in the Premier League table, only four points clear of 14th-placed Stoke, and Gerrard said: “We know our league form hasn’t been good enough, particularly in the second half of the season. We have to concentrate on getting it right – and forget about Chelsea in the FA Cup final.”
