Liverpool have confirmed Charlie Adam will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, ruling him out of the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
The Reds, who are 5/4 with bookmaker to lift the trophy on 5th May, have already been without the 26-year-old for two months after he picked up the injury during the 3-2 loss to QPR at Loftus Road.
The news has come as a blow to Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, who had hoped to call on the player for the last few games of the season.
The Scotland international is also now a doubt for the Great Britain team at the Olympics.
“There is no operation needed, but he won’t play this season,” said Dalglish. “And I would think if they had any designs on having him in the Olympics he wouldn’t be fit for that either.”
