Ian Bell is aiming for a return to one-day action for England in the summer after being omitted from the recent series against Pakistan.
England, who are 2/13 with bookmaker to win the upcoming Test series against West Indies, will take on Darren Sammy’s side, Australia and South Africa in the NatWest Series in the next few months.
Bell is hoping to earn a recall to the national side after scoring two runs against India in his sole appearance in the winter’s one-day matches.
“I want to play all forms of the game for England. I know you have to play well and be able to perform consistently to keep your spot. You expect that when you are playing for your country but this is an opportunity for me,” said the 30-year-old.
“I said I wanted to play in the one-dayers as well because with the bad weather around every knock you can get before the Test series is crucial. You can only do so much in the nets, I want to be out in the middle scoring runs.”
