UK Athletics head coach Charles van Commenee has revealed Paula Radcliffe’s foot problem could prevent her from challenging at the London Olympics.
Radcliffe, who is 20/1 to win the marathon at the Games with bookmaker, revealed earlier this month that an injury had flared up but was confident it would not affect her participation in her home Olympics.
“Paula is always a concern,” said Van Commenee. “She has been walking a thin line every day for the last decade. Nothing has changed.”
On whether she will be fit to run in the marathon, he added: “Shall we flip a coin? Paula is Paula.”
Radcliffe, who has never won an Olympic medal, is the current marathon world record holder.
