Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has warned his stars that they need to forget about last season’s glories if they are to do well this term.
The Blues defied the odds to win both the FA Cup and Champions League last season and are looking to build on the impressive weekend 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic by beating Reading at Stamford Bridge this evening.
Chelsea are 14/1 with bookmaker to win this season’s Champions League and 6/1 to clinch the FA Cup.
Di Matteo insists: “The pressure is always there, whether you have won or not. It’s a pressure job. I think we were all happy with what we achieved last season, but we all have to understand that is part of the past now.
“Now, we have to keep looking forward. We have a lot of targets and objectives to achieve this season, competitions that are very difficult.”
