Warren Gatland is anticipating a tough summer in 2013 after being confirmed as the head coach for the British and Irish Lions’ tour of Australia.
The Lions, who lost 2-1 in South Africa three years ago and were beaten by the same scoreline when they last toured Australia in 2001, will once again play three Tests against the Wallabies in June and July 2013.
The first Test will take place in Brisbane on 22nd June, with the second clash taking place seven days later in Melbourne. The third Test is scheduled for Sydney on 6th July.
The Lions are 5/6 with bookmaker to win the tour of Australia outright, with the Wallabies available at 11/10.
Gatland said of the tour: “There is no question it will be one hell of a challenge; playing in the southern hemisphere is one of rugby’s hardest challenges.
“Our ambition is to win the series in 2013 – and I believe we have the players to do that.”
