Olympic 10,000m gold medalist Mo Farah made light work of his 5,000m heat on Wednesday morning to secure his place in the final.
The Somali-born athlete, who is 13/8 to win his second gold of the Games with bookmaker, finished third to secure a chance to go for double-gold in London 2012.
Farah was pleased to have qualified from the heats and is now looking forward to running in the final.
He said: “It was pretty difficult, I was a bit tired, it took a bit more out of me than I was expecting but I’m really happy with where I am now, and I’ve got a couple of days off.
“I kept getting caught, there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on, that’s what happens in the heats, hopefully it will settle down in the final.”
