The 2012 European Soccer Championship will be held in five Poland and five Ukrainian cities, Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza reported on Thursday. Claiming that such a decision will be made public by UEFA next Wednesday, the daily said that among Poland’s lucky cities will be Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Poznan and Cracow. The experts from a special UEFA committee finished on Tuesday their two-day visit to Wroclaw which was devoted to the hotels and accommodation during European Football Championships in 2012. The experts visited all four and five star hotels in Wroclaw. They visited 10 working objects and construction sites of four following investments.
The foundations for the stadium on which the matches of European Championships will take place in 2012 were laid on Tuesday in Lwow. This is the second stage of building the stadium. The first one, preparing the terrain for construction, lasted from the beginning of last December. – Laying the foundations should have taken place on 20th January and we succeeded. I would like to emphasize that the works are held nonstop – said the mayor of Lwow Andrij Sadowy, quoted by local web portals.
UEFA decided to organize Euro 2012 in eight cities. Poland and Ukraine applied for expanding the list of host-cities to 10-12.
