England bowler Stuart Broad says preparation was the key to his side’s stunning 4-0 Test series whitewash of India.
Broad is set to lead England in their upcoming Twenty20 internationals against India and the West Indies, which are scheduled either side of a five-match one-day international series with India which England are 4/5 to win with bookmaker.
The all-rounder, who had previously struggled against Sri Lanka earlier in the summer, took 25 wickets and scored nearly 200 runs as India were usurped as the number one ranked Test side.
And Broad believes that meticulous attention to detail helped him and the rest of the England attack dominate against a top-class Indian batting line-up.
He said: “We had a meeting before the Lord’s Test about how we wanted to bowl at them – and looking back over the series, those plans worked very well.
“A lot of credit goes to the guys who came up with those plans, but also the bowlers who executed them.”
