Captain Stuart Broad has called on England to learn their lessons quickly from an eight-run loss to Pakistan in the first T20 international, with the second match of the series coming up on Saturday.
Broad’s men had looked well placed to take the lead in the three-match series, but struggled late on in their innings against a highly-skilled Pakistan attack, in which paceman Umar Gul excelled.
England are now 11/5 with bookmaker to recover and win the series by securing victories in the next two games and Broad sees plenty of reasons to be positive.
“It’s a great experience for the guys. You only learn from your mistakes and I hope we will learn pretty quickly and put them right,” he said after his side’s reverse in Dubai.
The series in the UAE has added importance, with both sides looking to gain knowledge and experience for the upcoming World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka in September.
