Stuart Broad will miss the T20 international between West Indies and England, a game the hosts are 3/10 with bookmaker to win, and is unlikely to play again this year.
Broad has been told he does not need surgery on the shoulder injury he suffered during England’s one-day international against India at Lord’s.
It had been hoped that Broad would be fit to face India in Kolkata in next month’s Twenty20 game, but he said: “It’s not 100 per cent confirmed I’ll not play but I’ll only play if the rehab goes fantastically well.”
After impressing in the fifth ODI victory against India earlier this month, Jonathan Bairstow is 9/2 to be England’s leading batsman at The Oval.
