England skipper Alastair Cook hailed the all-round performance of his side after they took a 2-0 lead in the one-day series against Pakistan.
Cook, who is 3/1 with bookmaker to be England’s top batsman in the third ODI, became the first England captain to score back-to-back ODI centuries in the victory. However, he was quick to pay tribute to the team’s efforts as they bowled out Pakistan for 230 in reply to England’s 250-4.
The captain singled out paceman Steven Finn for particular praise after he recorded figures of four for 34.
“I thought Steven Finn was outstanding,” he said. “I think his first five overs only went for seven runs. We got ahead of the game then. I thought we also fielded outstandingly well. We saved a lot of runs.
“It was a really good team performance. It’s nice go 2-0 up in the series and hopefully we can finish it in Dubai.”
