Ian Bell has been omitted from England’s one-day international squad for the four-match series against Pakistan.
Bell endured a dismal time with the bat during England’s recent Test series defeat to Pakistan although the tourists can be backed at 6/5 with bookmaker to win the first ODI.
Tim Bresnan has been included in the squad although the Yorkshire star will have to prove his fitness before his place is confirmed. He returned to Dubai recently after struggling with an elbow injury.
Uncapped duo Jos Buttler and Danny Briggs are also included in the 16-man squad while James Anderson returns after being rested for the 5-0 defeat in India four months ago.
Pakistan are 4/6 to build on their 3-0 Test series victory by beating England in the first ODI.
