Monty Panesar has the chance to revitalise his international career after being included in England’s 16-man squad for the three-Test series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.
The 29-year-old, who has taken 126 wickets in 35 Tests, could earn a place in the squad for next summer’s series against South Africa, which England are 8/11 with bookmaker to win. The Proteas are 5/2 to win the series.
Panesar hasn’t played for England’s Test side since the first match of the 2009 Ashes series, but enjoyed a fine County Championship season with Sussex, taking 69 wickets at an average of 27.24.
