Batsman Kevin Pietersen has been left out of the World Cup Twenty20 squad, with England at 6/1 to win the competition next month with bookmaker.
The 32-year-old’s future with the national side in all forms of the game hangs in the balance after the texting incident, which has dominated the newspaper columns over the past week.
National selector Geoff Miller has admitted he does not know what will happen to Pietersen with regards to selection with England in the future.
He said: “Kevin Pietersen’s future involvement is still being determined.
“He was therefore not considered for selection in either squad.”
