Mario Balotelli is determined to end an amazing season on an even bigger high by leading Italy to glory at Euro 2012 this summer.
The 21-year-old can’t wait to get started at the European Championships, with Italy 16/1 with bookmaker to defeat reigning champions Spain 2-1 in their opening game on 10th June.
The Manchester City forward played his part in helping the Blues win the Premier League title less than two weeks ago and now wants to taste success with his national team. And he admits he has been buoyed by the support shown by those who manage him.
Balotelli said: “This tournament could be the opportunity of my life. But I don’t feel an added responsibility. (Cesare) Prandelli, just like Roberto Mancini, has given me a lot of confidence and waited for me and I cannot wait to repay that trust.
“I don’t think I will ever leave him down to ten men. I want to be a winner and give the fans joy.”
