Brian Kidd has told the Manchester City players that the time for celebrating their Premier League title success is over.
The Blues coach insists the team, who are 5/4 with bookmaker to retain their crown next year, now need to focus on winning more silverware next season.
Kidd knows the value of a consistent winning mentality following his time at Manchester United and says the current champions now need to work even harder if they are to maintain their level of success.
“It is no good settling for the championship,” said Kidd.
“You have got to be hungry, you have got to go on and you have got to want more. The fans enjoyed it but, on the Monday morning, we started again.
“You could see after they came off the pitch the players still had the hunger and desire. But there is a long way to go before people can start talking about dynasties.”
