Bolton boss Owen Coyle believes his side has what it takes to beat the drop after they battled back from a goal down to see off Everton at Goodison Park.
The Toffees took the lead in bizarre circumstances on Wednesday night through goalkeeper Tim Howard but Bolton, who are now 4/6 with bookmaker to be relegated, grabbed the win thanks to goals from David Ngog and Gary Cahill.
“It was a big win but a merited win. We knew that we had to be at our best and we were,” said Coyle.
“I have always said we can avoid relegation. We have players who would get into most Premier League sides.”
The win saw Bolton leapfrog Wigan and Blackburn at the foot of the table and they are now just a point behind 17th-placed QPR. However, they will need all their battling qualities in their next few games against Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal if they are to climb out of the drop zone.
