Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes Adam Johnson can improve, despite praising him for his display in Wednesday’s League Cup win over Wolves.
City are 5/2 with bookmaker to win the Carling Cup after coming back from a goal down at Molineux to win 5-2 and book their place in the quarter-finals with a display of lethal finishing.
Johnson, who didn’t feature in Sunday’s 6-1 victory over Manchester United, scored City’s equaliser and set up Samir Nasri for their second, but Mancini insists the 24-year-old is capable of more.
“He played well, but I think Adam can do more,” the Italian told Sky Sports.
“He has everything to be one of the best wingers. I liked his performance this evening but I think he can do better.
“One player should never think that if I do this it is enough. Adam has everything, he is one of the best wingers in England and in Europe and I think he can improve.”
