Roberto Mancini insists Manchester City will keep fighting for the Premier League title, despite slipping eight points behind table-toppers United.
Mancini’s men are now 18/1 with bookmaker to win the title after losing 1-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, not long after Sir Alex Ferguson’s team had defeated QPR 2-0 in controversial circumstances at Old Trafford.
They may also be without Mario Balotelli for the rest of the campaign after the striker saw red against the Gunners.
“In life until it’s over you should do your best. In the end if we don’t win it’s probably because they (United) did better than us,” Mancini told Sky Sports.
“It’s clearly difficult (to lift the players) but we play in three days and this is good.
“We are a professional team, with professional players. It’s important we start to win and finish the championship well.”
