Oldham Athletic believe they can rip up the form book once again as they prepare to take on Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup on Friday night.
The League One side sprung a famous cup shock four years ago against Everton and are 40/1 with bookmaker to come away from Anfield with another 1-0 win over a Premier League side.
Paul Dickov’s team are fully focused on leaving Merseyside with another shock victory and will have the backing of more than 6,000 fans.
Skipper Dean Furman said: “I keep hearing about that Everton win and who’s to say we can’t go there and cause an upset? We aren’t going there to make up the numbers, this is what the FA Cup is all about because it gives the smaller clubs a chance against the big boys.
“It’s 11 against 11 and once we’re out there, it doesn’t matter who they are – we’ll be going out there to enjoy it. We aren’t going to treat it as a day out though – the gaffer won’t let us lie back and roll over.
“We’ll be going there to spoil the party. We’ll set up with a game plan and give it our best shot.”
