Fraizer Campbell is a surprise call-up to the England squad for next week’s friendly international against the Netherlands at Wembley.
The Sunderland striker is one of two uncapped players given their chance for England, who are 6/4 with bookmaker to defeat the beaten 2010 World Cup finalists. Caretaker coach Stuart Pearce has also given the nod to Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley.
Manchester City’s Micah Richards comes in to the 25-man party out of the cold, the defender having previously been overlooked on several occasions by former manager Fabio Capello.
West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green returns as back-up to Joe Hart, alongside Scott Carson.
“It’s important we get one or two young faces in and see if they can handle a game of this magnitude,” Pearce said after naming his squad.
