Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hailed the spirit of his side after seeing them defeat Chelsea 5-3 at Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners endured a poor start to the season and were rocked by the losses of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas in the summer.
However, Arsenal have now won their last five fixtures in all competitions and are 8/13 with bookmaker to defeat Marseille in their Champions League fixture on Tuesday. Wenger believes the new arrivals, such as Gervinho, Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker, are now beginning to gel with the rest of the side.
The players celebrated in front of the away fans after their victory over Chelsea on Saturday and Wenger believes the celebration proved the unity within the squad.
“The players have suffered, but that shows the belief and spirit is back,” explained the Frenchman.
“The spirit is great and all this together explains why the players reacted like that (after the final whistle).”
