Jenson Button has set his sights on another world title after signing a new multi-year contract with McLaren.
Button, who was world champion in 2009 while with Brawn GP, believes that McLaren are well placed to challenge again next season, despite been dominated by Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel in 2011.
The Englishman told his team’s official website after pledging his future: “I’ve never felt more at home at a team than I do at McLaren Mercedes. I’m currently lying second in the drivers’ standings and I feel that I’m driving better than ever.
“I’ve made no secret of my ambition to continue winning races and world championships and I fully believe this is the place where I can achieve those aims.”
The F1 circus heads to Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend, with Button 13/2 with bookmaker to take the chequered flag, while runaway standings leader Vettel is 4/7 to win the race and secure a second consecutive world title.
