Sebastian Vettel, who is 1/1 with bookmaker to win a third successive world championship, reacted coolly to an impressive show in testing in Barcelona.
The Red Bull ace headed the timesheets on day two at the Circuit de Catalunya, but refused to read too much into another impressive display.
He said after a good day’s work: “It’s difficult to judge where we are compared with the others right now. It’s all based on feeling and the feeling I have inside the car at the moment is fine.
“I’m looking forward to the last test and then really trying to get into the race mode and prepare for the start of the new season.”
The 2012 Formula 1 season gets underway in Australia on Sunday 18th March, with Vettel the strong favourite to be the man to catch once again.
Last season he romped to the title by a massive margin of 122 points, winning 11 races, including the season-opener in Melbourne just under 12 months ago.
