Sebastian Vettel is confident he can close the 42-point gap between himself and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso to achieve a hat-trick of world titles.
The two-time defending world champion, who is 10/1 to win the Belgian Grand Prix on 2nd September, has endured a mixed campaign in 2012.
Despite his only victory coming in April at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the German believes he and Red Bull can make the necessary improvements in the second half of the season.
“The one who is leading is always the one that everyone is after,” he told reporters.
“I think he (Alonso) is in a good position, but we still have a lot of races to go. I think the way the racing has been this year, you can catch up points pretty quickly.
“I think it’s a better championship in that regard – to be able to catch up rather than if you have only two cars that work properly and the first four are always given.”
