Red Bull’s chief technical officer Adrian Newey believes that Sebastian Vettel will keep pushing until the end of the season, even after he is confirmed as world champion.
Vettel has already won eight races in 2011 and is 5/6 with bookmaker to make it nine in Singapore this weekend, with the reigning world champion 1/200 to retain his title.
However, Newey expects the young German to maintain his focus even after the honours have been decided, saying: “Sebastian doesn’t want to cruise to the World Championship, he really wants to earn it.
“What’s so impressive about him is that he very rarely makes the same mistake twice. He learns and he keeps confounding the critics.
“Last year, people were saying he’s great if he gets out in the lead, but he can’t overtake people. People won’t be saying that after the last few races.”
