Mark Webber hopes to mount a Formula 1 title charge next season, having ended 2011 with victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The Red Bull ace, who is 12/1 with bookmaker to be crowned world champion next season, accepts that he has a long way to go to catch team-mate Sebastian Vettel – who romped to a second consecutive title this year.
However, Webber is wary of focusing too much on Vettel, with both McLaren and Ferrari likely to be challenging for honours again.
The Australian said: “I think I can have a stronger season than this year. You’ve got to look at different areas to get to the highest level and when the bar’s high it’s obviously not just Seb.
“I don’t think about just him. We’ve some class operators in other teams: Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso. These boys are on the case.”
