John Senden believes his second-place finish at the BMW Championship is great preparation for his challenge for FedEx Cup play-off glory at this weekend’s Tour Championship.
Finishing runner-up to Justin Rose at Cog Hill sent Senden, who is 9/2 with bookmaker to finish as the Championship’s top Australian, up 55 places to ninth in the standings. His new status earned him a place in the top 30 and a shot at the $10million first prize at East Lake Golf Club.
The Australian’s previous highest finish was coming joint-seventh at the Memorial Tournament in June but he is looking forward to challenging for the top honours this weekend.
He told AAP: “I never really got the results I wanted to get out of the whole year, lots of 12th, 13th, 20th places in tournaments, so last week definitely made up for that.”
