Having won two titles in the last few weeks, Jason Dufner has surprised many observers on the PGA Tour.
Dufner is full of confidence following his victories at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans and the Byron Nelson Classic, and he is 18/1 with bookmaker to make it a hat-trick at the Crowne Plaza Invitational in Texas this week.
The 35-year-old is hoping to make the Ryder Cup team for this September’s contest and is feeling relaxed ahead of this week’s event.
He told Reuters: “I haven’t touched a club since Sunday so hopefully the golf swing is still intact, the same as it was last week.
“It surprised me a little bit that I’ve won two in three weeks to be honest with you, but I’m not surprised that I could play at this level.”
Dufner will be competing this week against a number of fellow Americans who are likely to feature in Davis Love’s team, with Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan and Rickie Fowler taking part in the event.
