Tiger Woods paid tribute to Rory McIlroy after the Northern Irish star stormed to an eight-shot victory in the USPGA Championship.
McIlroy, who is 11/1 with bookmaker to win The Open next year, carded a final round 66 to turn the final major of the year into a procession.
Woods led the 23-year-old by two strokes at the halfway stage at Kiawah Island, but faltered while McIlroy struck his best form.
McIlroy has overtaken Woods in the rankings to reclaim the number one spot but the American, who finished 11 shots off the lead, admitted he could have no complaints.
Woods said: “He’s very good. He’s got all the talent in the world to do what he’s doing. And this is the way that Rory can play. When he gets it going, it’s pretty impressive to watch.”
