Superstar Frankel is perfectly prepared for his return to action at Newbury according to trainer Sir Henry Cecil.
The four-year-old, who is 4/11 with bookmaker to win the Lockinge Stakes on Saturday, enjoyed a perfect season last year, winning four major races including the 2,000 Guineas.
However, Cecil believes that there is even more to come from his charge, who has wintered well ahead of a return to the turf.
Cecil said: “He’s very well. He’s grown up both mentally and physically in the winter and like everybody else I’m looking forward to seeing him back on the track.
“As things stand he looks absolutely fine and everything is in place for the Lockinge.”
Frankel’s main rival is expected to be Excelebration, who was beaten into second place by his rival in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, the St James’s Palace Stakes and the Greenham Stakes last year.
