Harry Herbert is still to decide whether to run Guarantee in next month’s St Leger at Doncaster.
The William Haggas trained three-year-old was an impressive York winner, easing to a superb success in the Melrose Handicap.
Herbert, the racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, said: “He was very impressive and he is obviously a very exciting and progressive young horse.
“The Leger will obviously be considered, but we haven’t made any definite decisions yet. We’ll enjoy the moment and let the dust settle and see.”
Guarantee can be backed at 16/1 with bookmaker to win the St Leger, while Camelot is available at 1/3.
