Kevin Pietersen is concerned by the Sri Lankan heat, saying it will pose a bigger challenge for England than left-arm spin in the upcoming Test series.
England, who are 7/4 with bookmaker to win the first Test, were undone by Pakistan’s left-arm spin recently and Pietersen admits taking on the likes of Rangana Herath will not be an easy task.
But he is more wary of the searing temperatures and humidity, fearing they could be the biggest threat to England having a successful series.
“It’s unbelievable, make no bones about that, but it’s something we have to try and get over as quickly as possible,” he said.
“I’m trying to just not do too much and to conserve a lot of energy, not run around like a crazy fool like you do in England or Australia or South Africa, where you can afford to do that.”
