Wigan coach Shaun Wane is targeting glory in the Grand Final after the Warriors produced a stunning comeback against Hull KR to win the League Leaders Shield.
Wane’s side, who are 6/5 with bookmaker to win the Grand Final, were 26-0 down in the first half on Sunday but roared back to triumph 36-42.
The Shield is Wigan’s second league trophy in the last three years but is Wane’s first silverware as head coach. Although delighted with the win, Wane admits there are areas they must work on if they are to win the double.
“We weren’t at our best (against Rovers) and we made too many errors and gave away too many penalties,” he said.
“But I have to commend my players on what they did – to come back from that deficit is unbelievable.”
