Nick Easter has been ruled out of England’s World Cup clash with Romania, a match Martin Johnson’s side are 33/1 with bookmaker to win by between one and 10 points, but is expected to feature in next week’s game against Scotland.
Easter is struggling with the back injury he sustained during the narrow win against Argentina and missed last Sunday’s clash with Georgia as a result.
Leicester’s Thomas Waldrom has been placed on stand-by in case Easter has to drop out of the World Cup completely, but Johnson said: “We’re hoping he’ll be good to go next week, the signs are he will be. It looks good but these things are day to day.”
England can be backed at 10/1 to win the World Cup.
