вик услугиSource: UEFA Euro 2020 via Facebook Last summer, Portugal shocked the world in the European Championship final as Eder, a relatively unknown quantity on the international stage, scored an injury-time winner to shock host nation France. If truth be told, it wasn’t a memorable tournament – it certainly wasn’t as exciting or entertaining as Euro 2012, held across both Ukraine and Poland. Spain were the dominant force in international football back then, having won both Euro 2008 and a first World Cup crown in 2010. Therefore, it wasn’t exactly […]

Members of the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association have actively promoted the ‎message of respect for diversity through a series of international meetings in the run-up to this year’s International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism. On 26-30 October, Anna Tatar repeatedly presented the current activities of ‘NEVER AGAIN’ in the field of hate crime monitoring at the ‘United for Equality’ forum held in Paris. The meeting was convened by Les Maisons des Potes with the participation of anti-racism NGOs from 16 European countries and it featured presentations by several candidates for the […]

The Australian Open draws to a close this week, with bookmaker covering all the action right up to the hotly anticipated Men’s Final on Sunday. For the first time in almost 40 years, Britain will be represented in both the Men’s and Women’s semi-finals of the Open, with John Lloyd and Sue Barker the last to achieve the feat in 1977. There’s no doubting that Andy Murray will be desperate to add another trophy to his cabinet after failing to lift the Australian Open trophy in four finals in the […]

Scotland v Poland – 8 October This is a crunch match for Scotland in a group where qualification seemed a distinct possibility for so long only for an unexpected defeat away to Georgia swept the rug from under their feet. However if Scotland can defeat Poland at Hampden and Republic of Ireland fail to beat Germany in Dublin, then there is a very real chance that the Scots would sneak into the third qualifying place in the last round of games thanks to what would be their superior head to […]

With Euro 2016 around the corner, this week brings the next round of qualifiers. We take a look at some of the more interesting fixtures below. Cyprus v Wales – Thursday 4th September It’s been awhile since Wales qualified for the finals of a major international tournament. In fact they’ve only done it once, and that was many decades ago. Currently Chris Coleman’s side are sitting pretty at the top of Group B, and they need just two wins from their next four games to see them through. First up […]

A new book on Jews, football and antisemitism in Poland has been launched at an international conference organized by the Anne Frank House at Amsterdam Arena, the stadium of Ajax Amsterdam. The book was written by Dr Maciej Kozlowski, a distinguished historian and diplomat, and published by the Warsaw-based ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association. Using the example of Cracovia, Poland’s oldest football club, it discusses the multicultural history of Polish football as well as contemporary issues of antisemitism and racism. The book is published in Polish with an English summary and is […]

The ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association brought together creme de la creme of Polish sports journalists as well as Members of Parliament, former sports champions and representatives of key institutions to participate in an awards ceremony and an informed discussion on sports and discrimination on the eve of the UN Anti-Racism Day. The ‘Stop racism in sports’ competition for professional print, radio and television journalists covering issues of racism and discrimination was held under the auspices of Elzbieta Radziszewska MP, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Parliament (Sejm) and former Minister of Equality. […]

‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association members and friends were in attendance at the European Medal of Tolerance ceremony held in London on 9 March. The Medal was handed to international football legend Samuel Eto’o and to the FARE network of which ‘NEVER AGAIN’ is a founding member. The distinction is awarded by the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation (ECTR), established in 2008 by former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and European Jewish Congress President Moshe Kantor. Speeches in honour of the award recipients were made by Vaira Vike-Freiberga, former President of Latvia […]

Manchester United have been linked to a number of players so far during the 2014 summer transfer window. With Louis van Gaal officially starting his duties at Old Trafford this week, the Manchester United faithful have every reason to be confident going into the 2014-15 season off the back of good performance in the World Cup by the Netherlands. The Dutch coach took his side to the semi-finals, losing out on penalties to Argentina and finishing third after thumping Brazil in the playoff match.  The team came home to a […]
