Members of the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association have actively promoted the message of respect for diversity through a series of international meetings in the run-up to this year’s International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism. Throughout April and May 2016, members of the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association have provided anti-racism trainings to prison workers and volunteers working with inmates during special workshops in Poland, Greece, and Hungary. The trainings were organized in frames of the innovative educational project E.U.R.O.P.E. (European Union Rapprochement for Offenders and Pupils Education). Supported by the European Commission, the project aims to promote European and civic values among inmates, ex-convicts and socially marginalized youth in cooperation with officials and volunteers. A new book on Jews, football and antisemitism in Poland has been launched at an international conference organized by the Anne Frank House at Amsterdam Arena, the stadium of Ajax Amsterdam. The book was written by Dr Maciej Kozlowski, a distinguished historian and diplomat, and published by the Warsaw-based ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association. ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association members and friends were in attendance at the European Medal of Tolerance ceremony held in London on 9 March. The Medal was handed to international football legend Samuel Eto’o and to the FARE network of which ‘NEVER AGAIN’ is a founding member. An anti-discrimination football exhibition prepared by the ‘NEVER AGAIN’ Association has been opened in the main hall of the Polish Parliament on 19 February 2014. The opening ceremony was hosted by Deputy Speaker Wanda Nowicka, Poland’s leading campaigner against discrimination and for women’s rights. The Man Without Barriers is an annual award given to an outstanding disabled person who breaks down barriers and stereotypes and who is a positive role model in various walks of life.
