“Trojickyj” shopping centre that is build in the neighbourhood of the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, will have been liquidated by 1 June – an agreement there upon was signed by both, representatives of the Ukrainian government and the owners of the “Trojickyj” shopping centre. Scotland is able to take charge of EURO 2012 instead of Poland and Ukraine – declared Gordon Smith, the general director of the Scothish Football Association. During the interview for ‘Sunday Herald’ Smith asserted that the championship could be held in Scotland in case Poland and Ukraine did not manage to take care of the event. In his opinion, there are three stadiums in Glasgow where international matches could be organized: Celtic Park, Hampden Park and Ibrox Park.

Poland and Ukraine have been warned by governing body Uefa to speed up their preparations for Euro 2012. There have been concerns that political change in both countries has affected projects such as stadiums and roads. “The next four to six months will be crucial to avoid any critical slippage in infrastructure projects,” said Uefa president Michel Platini.
