Stephen Maguire admits he faces a tough task ahead of his quarter-final meeting with Stephen Hendry at the World Snooker Championship.
Hendry hasn’t won the top prize at the Crucible since 1999 and had to qualify for this year’s tournament after dropping out of the world’s top 16.
However, the seven-time champion managed to brush aside both Stuart Bingham and defending champion John Higgins en route to the last eight, and Maguire admits Hendry is in fine form ahead of their quarter-final showdown.
“He’s in the quarter-finals of the World Championship and this is his second home, so he’ll only have one thing on his mind: winning that trophy,” said Maguire.
Maguire is priced at 8/15 with bookmaker to secure the victory, while Hendry can be backed at 6/4.
