Mark Williams is hoping that he can finally beat Ronnie O’Sullivan when the two men meet in the second round of the World Championship.
The 37-year-old Welshman beat Liu Chuang in the first round at Sheffield but has lost three times to O’Sullivan, who is 5/1 with bookmaker to win the tournament, in the last six years at The Crucible.
Williams, 16/1 to win the World Championship, said of the 25-frame clash against O’Sullivan: “I’ve been owing him one for 10 years. Let’s hope this is the time I beat him.
“You enjoy the occasion but he always seems to play well against me. Even the last time, when he didn’t play too well, he still beat me. I need to play better than that to have any chance.”
