Fabio Capello wants England to rediscover their winning form at Wembley when they face Wales on Tuesday evening.
England haven’t won at home since defeating Bulgaria 4-0 last September but can be backed at 10/1 with bookmaker to beat Wales 2-1. They drew against Montenegro, Ghana and Switzerland and lost to France, while their away form has been much more impressive.
“I think we need to improve,” admitted Capello. “First of all we need to improve when we have to win the ball back. When we have the ball we are dangerous because we create a lot of chances.
“But sometimes you need to be stronger and win back the ball more quickly. This is the future of football.”
England will be without defender Leighton Baines who has returned to Everton after picking up a hamstring problem in training, while Darren Bent and Micah Richards are also unavailable due to injury.
